Red Cross Clubs

American Red Cross Clubs are school-based organizations that are led and run by students. Clubs organize and participate in projects that benefit their communities, schools, homes and in some cases, the world.

Currently, there are 15 active Red Cross clubs throughout Santa Barbara County!!! Check and see if your school is on the list!

What do Red Cross Clubs Do?

What don’t they do?! Red Cross clubs have organized and participated in many activities benefiting communities locally, nationally and internationally. They have:

  • Raised money to supply bed-nets to families in Sub-Saharan Africa to prevent malaria transmission (the Malaria Initiative).
  • Taught disaster preparedness skills to elementary school children.
  • Organized talent shows to raise money for local Red Cross activities.
  • Got trained in CPR, First Aid and disaster preparedness.
  • Served as Red Cross representatives at community fairs and festivals.
  • Held bake sales to raise money for the Red Cross Disaster Relief Fund.
  • Hosted a 5k Run/Walk to benefit the Measles Initiative (a program that vaccinates children against measles in Africa and Asia).
  • Participated in Club Red: Leadership Retreat, the Chapter’s annual leadership camp for high school students.
  • Assisted other local agencies with projects, such as tree plantings and beach clean-ups.
  • Served on Chapter committees, including the Volunteer & Youth Committee and the Board of Directors.
  • … and so much more!!!
